Qualified 5 Stars for this Persuasion Entry

Andrzej Batko is a persuasion genius. Without question he has successfully applied in the real world what he writes about in the Art of Persuasion.
I have to qualify my five star review for two reasons. First I am not 100% unbiased as I have known Andrzej for 10 years. Secondly I am awarding those five stars for the value of the material and not the translation of the book from Polish to English. There are plenty of places where the translation doesn't quite capture the flavor of what Andrzej is communicating. Polish and English bear no resemblance and translation choices are complicated further by the subject material (NLP, hypnosis, influence) which has many terms that aren't always agreed upon within their own domain...and then having to translate that material to the public.
Batko writes authoritatively about persuasion and manipulation.
Having presented in Poland at numerous events I can tell you that it's nice to see a list of "Power Words" that are effective in Poland as that helps us distinguish and dovetail what we know works in the United States and most English speaking countries. (See Psychology of Persuasion: How to Persuade Others to Your Way of Thinking)
Next up Batko discusses the crucial mistake of denying elements of another person's experience. Rightfully this little understood concept is dealt with in detail and vividly with examples that ring so true you will be pleased to have collected just this one specific concept from the text. Batko's attention to capturing the essence of the experience of your counterpart/listener is crucial to success in persuasion and he does this very well.
The Mysterious Case of Implicature is dealt with elegantly and is more than useful for the reader. Here you have "Cause Effect Thinking" taken to another level of usage and it is rather exciting to read.
Presuppositions, Metphors and metaprograms are all dealt with briefly but not so briefly that you don't see immediate applications.
The final two segments, Persuasion Junk and How to Persuade People Who are Resisting, are priceless pieces that conclude this very quick and enjoyable read.
You'll find this well worth the $10 this will run you and you will get plenty of solid gold nuggets despite of it's 144 pages.

Interesting but my ADD kept kicking in :-)

I think the information was good but it wasn't written well enough to keep my attention from
drifting to "squirrel". I could only read a couple pages at a time if I wanted to get anything from it
and I would have a difficult time doing a book review on it as I don't remember most of
what I read.

As a student of psychology and persuasion... I was refreshingly surprised when I read this book and learned numerous new ways to look at the communication of things I had never learned before. Because of this I give it 5 stars. It is worth the read and is in my library for good.
