Disappointing

The book is comprehensive and has a pretty cover. Beyond this I am not impressed. It is styled in a dry, academic way with an odd way of organizing information, no regard for unnecessarily long-winded sentences (this is marketed as "lecture notes", right?), and tiny type size. And what spurred me to go ahead and write this review? A typo, of course, the most infuriating sign that the authors did not do their best job. There are also factual errors (as early as Figure 1.1, which gives incorrect cell lineages for hematopoiesis). I don't know if there is a better hematology book, but there certainly ought to be.

About the Author
Kenneth Briggs has written about religion and culture for nearly forty years. His reporting for Newsday and The New York Times from the 1960's through the 1980's broke new ground for coverage of religion in American journalism. He has since contributed articles to numerous publications and taught courses in religion and journalism at Lafayette Collge, Lehigh University and Columbia University. His most recent previous book is Double Crossed: Uncovering the Catholic Church's Betrayal of American Nuns was published in 2006. He lives in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Thought-provoking!
By The Least of These
This is one beautiful story told exceptionally well. Using a series of horrific incidents, the director guides us to a deep understanding of the purpose, the benefit, the need, and the blessing to all concerned of forgiveness. It examines what evil does to the perpetrator and the receiver. But, more importantly, it presents a strong message of hope, recovery, and release that benefits the giver of forgiveness the most. Have some hankies nearby. This film will touch you and leave you thinking...thinking...thinking.

In a world where war and strife are prevelent, this is a book that should be read. There are many examples in the book of people who have done the hard work of forgiveness. Forgiveness is not easy and it does not happen right away. This would be a great book for a book club along with the documentary of the same name.

I have not read a book like this in a long time, but it was a great adventure! I loved the fact it was from a Christian point of view and incoporated many historical facts. I loved this book and can't wait to read another book by Dunn.

Good read!

Having never read one of Randall Allen Dunn's books, I was a bit skeptical. However, for $.99 I figured I wouldn't lose much if I didn't like it.

What I found was an "Indiana Jones" style adventure with a little romance, a little more God, and a lot more adventure and action. Granted, some of it was a bit hard to believe. But in the style of Indiana Jones, it fit.

This is a well written book (with a bit too much character development for me) with a good flow, with an unfortunate overuse of memories and daydreams that added nothing to the story or characters. (I skipped over them.)

I recommend this book for those that like action and adventure with an archeological bent.
